This section covers between January to March 2002, so don't get confused.
Well I've got this strange pain in my leg that just won't go away. It's so painful I can't sleep or move even one inch off the floor. I've been to the Doctor on an emergency appointment (mine was away so I saw another one in the Practice). She said it's not Sciatica as I thought, but sent me to the Chemist to get some painkillers. She also mentioned I was overweight (tell me something I don't know!!).
Got the painkillers. Didn't even touch the pain. Can hardly move. It takes me ½ hour to get from my bedroom to the bathroom (about 20 feet). Back to the Doctor but insisted I didn't see Dr X (I won't mention names but let's just say I'm not the only patient who refuses to see her!). This time I saw another Doctor, who said she wanted me to go for Blood Tests and X-rays at St. Peters Hospital, Chertsey. They want to eliminate Rheumatoid Arthritis first as John has this disease.
At long last I saw my own Doctor, and he had the results from the hospital. The bloods were normal, although there was a slight increase in one of the results but it was nothing to worry about.
He said I now have 3 options:
As most of you know, I'm not an automatic tablet taker, and I am NOT a needle fan, so I opted for Physiotherapy. I then went to Egham Sports Centre and started my eight treatments of physiotherapy. Hobbling around a Sports Centre does not look good, trust me!
Luckily I have health care through work, or else I would have to wait three months for an appointment. This is secondly lucky as I was going to cancel it this April as I'd never used it!
