Use of ultrasound to examine the heart.
Edema
Swelling of a body part caused by an abnormal buildup of fluids.
Electrocardiogram
Medical test of the heart. Small pads are stuck onto the chest around the
heart. Wires are attached to the pads and these connect to a machine that
takes an electrical recording of the heart beat. Doctors can examine the
trace of the heart beat to see if the heart is working normally.

Epstein-Barr Virus
A retrovirus that has been associated with the development of Burkitt's
Lymphoma and is present in about 50% of the time in Hodgkin's Disease patients.
The link between the virus and cancer is still unknown.

A red blood cell. Red blood cells are responsible for carrying oxygen to
body tissues and carries carbon dioxide away from them.
Erythrocytosis (eh-REETH-ro-sigh-TOE-sis)
The condition of having abnormally high numbers of red blood cells.
Erythropenia (eh-REETH-ro-PEA-nee-uh)
The condition of having abnormally low numbers of red blood cells.

The study of the cause of disease. In cancer, there are often multiple causes.

The total amount of time that a patient survives, without relapse, following
treatment.
